Northgate Health Centre

A new primary care centre in the heart of Oxford city centre

King Edward Street Medical Practice, 27 Beaumont Street Medical Practice and 28 Beaumont Street GP practice are pleased to announce they are moving into new modern premises at the Northgate Health Centre, 15 Market Street, Oxford, OX1 3EF.

The new health centre has been built by Jesus College, within their own brand-new development known as the ‘Cheng Yu Tung Building’ (see image below).

The three practices - which will remain separate - will start providing NHS primary care services at the new purpose-built health centre from Monday 27 June 2022.

The practices contact details will remain unchanged but from 27 June they will be know as:

  • KES@Northgate (King Edward Street Medical Practice)
  • 27@Northgate (27 Beaumont Street Medical Practice)
  • 28@Northgate (28 Beaumont Street GP practice)

Benefits of moving:

The move will allow each practice to deliver more effective patient care in modern, spacious premises, supported by a team of clinical staff including GPs, nurses, health care assistants, pharmacists, and dedicated practice staff.

The new health centre is located only about 10 min walk from the current GP practices, and will serve a patient population of around 20,000 (including a significant student population) mainly living in or close to Oxford city centre.

Accessing the new health centre:

The new health centre will be accessible via Market Street but there are no car parking facilities available for GPs, staff or patients. For information about on street parking in Oxford city centre see here and city centre car parks see here

Patient meeting on 7 June:

The three practices held a joint online meeting for patients to provide an update about the move - a recording of the meeting will be made available shortly - see practice links below to access this.
