The NHS in Oxfordshire has launched a short survey to find out how well people can recall its winter campaign. This was aimed at increasing the numbers of people getting the flu vaccination and signposting people to local health services to keep them well and healthy.

The six-month campaign used a mix of social media, posters/leaflets, bus advertising and media to raise awareness of the flu vaccine, weekend and evening GP appointments, NHS 111, pharmacy, minor injuries units and a health advice card.

The main message ‘Help Us Help You’ was part of the wider national winter campaign run by Public Health England.

The survey asks participants if they can recall the various images and messages used throughout the campaign. The feedback will help the local NHS assess how well the campaign worked and allow partners to make improvements for next winter.

This year, the winter campaign brought together NHS and social care partners and the voluntary sector in Oxfordshire to tackle seasonal pressures experienced across health and care services. It included the appointment of Tehmeena Ajmal as the county’s first Winter Director.

Tehmeena said: “I would urge people to take part in the survey to help us find out how effective our campaign was this winter. Our priority was to signpost people quickly to health and care services to help prepare them for winter, keep them well and ease the pressure on services like A&E. Your feedback will help us to plan for next winter and further improve our messaging.”
