Planning for future health and care needs in OX12
Date: 02 April 2019

The OX12 Stakeholder Reference Group has been set up to bring together patients, carers and the public from the local community with partners of the Oxfordshire Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB).
It aims to ensure public views and experiences are taken into account in the implementation of Oxfordshire’s Population Health and Care Needs Framework in the postcode area of OX12.
The work of the OX12 Stakeholder Reference Group covers Wantage, Grove and the surrounding villages.
We are working to find out what services (NHS, social care, and groups, clubs, activities) are currently being used by people living in the OX12 postcode area. We want to know where those services are provided and where people have to travel to access them.
A survey is launching today (2 April 2019) to help us gather this information, which will be used to help shape the way services are planned and delivered in the future.
Jo Cogswell, director of transformation at Oxfordshire CCG, said: “Understanding how people use services and what is important to their health and wellbeing will help us to ensure that local people have their needs met over the coming years. This is the beginning of the process to help us develop health and care services for people living in this area."
Julie Mabberley, chair of the Stakeholder reference group, said: "This survey is very important to ensure that we have the voice of the residents as part of the study so we need to encourage everyone to complete it."
The survey is available at http://bit.ly/surveyOX12 Printed copies will be available in public buildings (and at local GP surgeries) throughout OX12.
Formal scrutiny of the implementation of the Population Health and Care Needs Framework in OX12 will continue with regular updates provided to the Joint Oxfordshire Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Oxfordshire Health and Wellbeing Board.
