Normal opening times resume at minor injuries units

Date: 10 July 2020

MIU

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Minor Injuries Units (MIU) in Abingdon, Henley and Witney, and the First Aid Unit (FAU) in Bicester have now returned to their normal opening hours. The units were operating on reduced hours from March 23 to allow staff to be redeployed to respond to the Coronavirus crisis.

The units are now operating an appointment system to allow for social distancing in the waiting areas. You should call 111 or the unit directly before going in. You’ll be advised on whether your injury is suitable for the service and you will be offered an appointment based on your clinical need. You’ll be seen as close to the appointment time as possible, but given the nature of the service, there may sometimes be a delay.

If you attend without an appointment, you will be triaged and may be asked to wait or return at a later time.

You and those accompanying you must bring and wear a face covering. If possible, please attend by yourself. If you need someone to bring you, they should wait in the car unless their support is essential for your visit.

Hand cleaning will be required as you enter our buildings and during your visit. Please maintain social distancing and follow instructions given by staff and on signs. These are in place to keep you and staff safe.

For life-threatening emergencies, call 999 or attend your nearest A&E.
