People are invited to a meeting in Banbury to share their views on new ways to deliver primary care.  This includes day to day services available at GP surgeries, pharmacies and other local providers.

The event is being organised by the North Oxfordshire Patient and Public Forum and is being held on Thursday 6 July (7.15pm to 9pm) at Banbury Town Hall, Bridge Street, Banbury OX16 5QB.

The meeting will highlight the challenges facing  primary care across the country which include a growing older population, recruitment of new doctors and providing care closer to people’s homes.

People will have the opportunity to share their views on local GPs’ priorities for more sustainable primary care services in north Oxfordshire which can meet these challenges.

All feedback from the meeting will be presented to the North Locality Group of GPs to support them in making recommendations for the development of primary care in the locality.

This is being led by Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group through its Primary Care Framework, which sets out a vision for the future of primary care services in Oxfordshire over the next five years.

Anita Higham, chair of the North Oxfordshire Patient and Public Forum, said: “I would urge local people to attend the meeting to tell us their views on priorities for developing primary care services in north Oxfordshire.

"It is important patients help shape local services because they are often the first port of call for people who feel sick or need advice, so we want a service that meets their needs.”

People who want more information or to confirm their attendance at the meeting should contact: CSCSU.oxonengagement@nhs.net or call 01865 334646.
