North Oxfordshire PPG Locality Forum
In Oxfordshire, six PPG Locality Forums have been set up as voluntary non-statutory groups, each with an elected Chair in accordance with the Forum’s terms of reference, to bring the patient voice into commissioning decisions. In the North Oxfordshire, the PPG Locality Forum is known as North Oxfordshire Patient and Public Forum (NOLF).
NOLF holds three open public Forum meetings per year, two in Banbury and one in Chipping Norton. Anyone is welcome to come to these meetings.
NOLF Steering Group
NOLF has a steering group which meets every two months to take forward actions relating to discussions at the open public Forum meetings. Members include Patient Participation Group (PPG) representatives from the GP practices in North Oxfordshire.
Currently six GP practices out of the 12 in North Oxfordshire are represented. Patients from the remaining practices would be most welcome.
The role of NOLF
The role of NOLF is to represent the patient voice and views of the North Oxfordshire residents about their healthcare services.
How does the PPG Locality Forum do this?
The Forum gives patients a voice regarding their healthcare services through two-way communication with Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (OCCG). Activities include:
- Representing needs and experiences from all patients registered to the 12 NOLF GP practices
- Challenging the locality constructively whenever necessary
- Getting involved in relevant patient engagement and formal consultations
- Encouraging and supporting activities within the locality to promote good health.
The Chair of NOLF is Anita Higham, OBE, supported by Deputy Chair, David Heyes.
