Safeguarding

It is the responsibility of every NHS funded organisation and health care professionals to ensure that people in vulnerable circumstances are not only safe but also receive the highest possible standard of care.  We have a statutory responsibility for ensuring safe systems of care that safeguard children and adults at risk of abuse and neglect and are responsible for safeguarding quality assurance through contractual arrangements with all provider organisations.

We work in partnership with other commissioners, providers of health and social care services, statutory and voluntary organisations to improve outcomes for adults, and children and young people at risk.  We will verify providers' services , prioritise people's well being, needs and goals and ensure patients and their families get timely appropriate care that ensures they are kept safe from harm.  We have appointed a Safeguarding GP and Nurse to ensure all statutory roles and responsibilities are undertaken.

The Director of Quality is the organisational representative on the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board and Oxfordshire Safeguarding Adult board.
