TranslateAntimicrobial Prescribing Quality Scheme
In addition to the Prescribing Incentive Scheme 2017-2018, an Antimicrobial Prescribing Quality Scheme has also been agreed to run across OCCG this year. There is no need to sign up to this scheme as there will be automatic inclusion and OCCG will assess achievement of all practices.
OCCG announced details of the scheme on 28 July 2017. It is in the same format as previous year’s schemes and, while the indicators and targets for total antibiotic prescribing and prescribing of cephalosporins, co-amoxiclav and quinolones remain the same, additional indicators for trimethoprim prescribing have been included in line with national objectives on reducing the rate of E.coli bacteraemia.
