Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) would like to thank everyone who attended the primary care workshops in Witney and Carterton over the last two weeks.

More than 120 people attended the events and shared their views on what is important to them. A number of suggestions for improvements to services were made including signposting people to other services such as minor injury units, first aid units and GP hubs.

People at the meeting suggested appointments could be offered with a range of professionals such as nurses and healthcare assistants as well as the traditional GP appointment.

Oxfordshire CCG representatives were also asked to attend careers fairs to raise the profile of NHS careers with local colleges and secondary schools.

Oxfordshire CCG is now collating all the feedback and looking at how we can incorporate suggestions into our plans for primary care services in West Oxfordshire. We will be holding a further event on Thursday 7 December, 6.30pm – 8pm at Witney Corn Exchange to share with you what we have heard.

If people are unable to come to this event, they can still give us their views by completing a short online survey here: https://consult.oxfordshireccg.nhs.uk/consult.ti/WestOxonPrimaryCare/consultationHome or by emailing us at cscsu.talkinghealth@nhs.net

As our plans for primary care and GP services in West Oxfordshire develop, your views and comments will be reflected in our plans, the first draft of which will be published on our website in December, following these events.

We hope the local community will take this opportunity to engage with us on the future of primary care and GP services in West Oxfordshire.
