Transformation and the general election - important update

Date: 28 April 2017

update

Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (OCCG) must make changes to the timing for considering the outcome of the Big Health and Care Consultation (Phase One of the Oxfordshire Transition Plan) because of the forthcoming election (8 June) and the additional period of purdah. This affects when information can be published and when results can be discussed in public.

OCCG will not be publishing anymore information about the consultation or the feedback received until after the general election on 8 June.

The additional period of purdah affects the plans OCCG had for its May and July Board meetings. As a result, it has been decided to organise two additional Board meetings: the first on the 20 June will receive and consider the consultation reports; the second on 10 August is when OCCG expects to be able to make decisions on the proposed changes.

Doing this will allow OCCG to publish the outcome of the consultation after the General Election and discuss it at a public meeting. It will also allow sufficient time for Board members to understand the feedback from the consultation and to consider what else they may need before making decisions at the Board meeting on 10 August.

  • Thursday 25 May: The OCCG public Board meeting will take place but will NOT now receive reports related to the Transformation consultation.
  • Tuesday 20 June: The OCCG Board will hold an additional meeting in public to receive and consider the Transformation consultation reports. Papers will be published on the CCG website one week before.
  • Thursday 27 July: The OCCG Board meeting will take place but will NOT now make decisions related to the Transformation consultation.
  • Thursday 10 August: The OCCG Board will hold an additional meeting in public to make decisions on the Transformation consultation.

More details will be available on the OCCG website soon to confirm times and venues for the two additional meetings. All papers will be published one week before the meeting.
