Equality Delivery System

Equality Delivery System (EDS) is a system that helps NHS organisations improve the services they provide for their local communities and provide better working environments, free from discrimination, for those who work in the NHS.  A refreshed EDS, known as EDS2 was made available in 2013.

The main purpose is to help NHS organisations, in discussion with local partners and public, review and improve their performance for people with protected characteristics.

Since April 2015, EDS2 implementation by NHS provider organisations has been mandatory.  EDS2 is cited within the CCG Assurance Framework and is a key requirement for all clinical commissioning groups.

The EDS2 summary below provides an overview of OCCGs most recent EDS2 review.
